Dunham accepted the ACEC Grand Award for the new Great River Energy Headquarters project. Dunham worked with Perkins+Will Architects and McGough Construction to complete the project, which has earned a LEED Platinum Certification—the highest honor for sustainable green building construction—by incorporating nearby Arbor Lake as a geothermal heating and cooling source. Other sustainable strategies include utilizing thermal displacement ventilation, extensive daylight harvesting, rainwater retention, photovoltaic array and a wind turbine to reduce its carbon footprint.
